The owner, Sohan Lal, said he earned a living by working as a rural labourer. He said yesterday that his daughter had come to live in his house with her children. He said he was glad they were safe. Sohan Lal said when his wife came out of the room after cooking food, the roof of the room collapsed, and all their belongings that were kept inside were shattered under the rubble. He said they suffered a heavy loss and have requested compensation from the administration.

In the past two months, the roofs of a dozen houses in different colonies have collapsed due to rain.
