DIG, Ropar Range, HS Bhullar today held a meeting of district police officials here today to review the law and order, ongoing campaign war against drugs, status of pending crime cases, the challenges being faced by the police and strategic plans to control crime and drug abuse.

The meeting was attended by SSP Subham Aggarwal, SP (D) Rakesh Yadav and DSPs. The DIG reviewed the status of police station wise pending cases related to NDPS Act, excise, and crime against women and children. He directed to ensure maintenance of law and order, prevention of crime, speedy investigation and disposal of cases, quality investigation, adequate attention to public grievances on a day-to-day basis and strengthening of police public relations are of utmost importance.

Addressing the media, the DIG said the Punjab Police are committed to rooting out the drug menace from the state. He said he had directed the officials to ensure round-the-clock patrol, nakas and more CASO operations and vigil at sensitive places.

SSP Aggarwal said a fight against drugs had been launched in the district to make Fatehgarh Sahib drug-free. He called upon the people, NGOs, social organisations and youth clubs to come forward so that the drug menace could be wiped out and the younger generation could be saved.
