Sandhu applied for bail on January 10, contending that the FIR No. 33 registered against him by the State Crime Branch in 2024 was erroneous.

On the complaint of Mohali resident Baljinder Singh, a real-estate agent, a case was registered against him by the State Crime Branch on October 15, 2024, for allegedly misusing his official position to gain monetary benefits in connection with disputed properties.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
