The Shiromani Akali Dal today named former SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur and senior leader Bikram Singh Majithia as party candidates from the Bholath and Majitha constituencies, respectively. The SAD has named 89 candidates of the 97 seats in its share of poll-alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party, which will contest 20 seats in the 117-member Punjab Assembly. The party has kept the suspense going over the Lambi constituency. Five-time CM Parkash Singh Badal is likely to contest again, but the party is keeping its cards close to the chest on his candidature. — TNS
