In a statement issued here today, SAD Kisan Wing president Sikander Singh Maluka said the Congress government could not ensure regular power supply to farmers even during the first five days of the paddy transplantation season. He said leave aside supplying eight-hour power supply as per commitment, farmers were not getting supply for the past three days in many parts of the state.

He said the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) had failed to maintain supply. He said farmers were sitting on dharnas in front of PSPCL offices for not restoring supply after disruptions. He said it was shocking that the PSPCL did not have transformers and cables for restoration of power supply in many parts of the state. — TNS
