Police officials said a case under Sections 420, 406 and 120-B of the IPC and Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act, 2014, has been registered against the suspects at the Lehra police station. The case was registered against the four persons following an inquiry made by the Bhawanigarh DSP after the complaint.

However, all the accused in the case have yet to be arrested by the police.

In his complaint, Sukhveer Singh of Lehal Khurad village said that four persons—Rajinder Singh, Daljit Singh, Balwinder Singh, and an owner of a firm—duped him of Rs 31.50 lakh on the pretext of sending his brother to the USA.
