Congress MLA Pargat Singh has raised concerns over the appointment of newly-elected Ludhiana West MLA Sanjeev Arora as the Industry Minister. He pointed out that appointing MLA Sanjeev Arora as minister of a department connected to his businesses amounted to conflict of interest.

He urged the Punjab Government to address corruption effectively. “While the Bhagwant Mann-led government is investigating conflict of interest allegations against the former minister, it remains silent on the issue within the new minister’s department and his businesses,” he said

In his post, Pargat said, “To combat corruption effectively, legislation addressing conflict of interest must be introduced in the Assembly. This is a critical necessity. Previously, during the Congress government’s tenure, efforts were made to introduce similar legislation, but were halted. It is now imperative for Punjab to enact this legislation.”
