The Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes today summoned MP Ravneet Singh Bittu on June 22.

Commission chairperson Tejinder Kaur said the panel had received a complaint from Pawan Kumar Tinnu over a viral video and reports published in various newspapers in which Bittu had made unparliamentary comments.

She said the commission had decided to investigate the matter and summoned Bittu to appear personally on June 22 at 11.30 am under Section 12(2) of the Punjab State Schedule Castes Commission Act, 2004. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
