School in-charge suspended for negligence

The Education Department, taking a serious note of the alleged negligence of the in-charge of Government Senior Secondary School, Goindwal Sahib, has suspended his services.

The in-charge had reportedly told students of the school to serve tea and refreshments to the AAP government representatives and political leaders at a function organised recently in the school.

A news-item in this regard was published in this paper today.

A video of the whole incident had gone viral on social media. Despite today being Sunday, the Director of School Education (Secondary), with reference to the news-item published in The Tribune today, issued a show-cause notice to the in-charge. He also issued the order of suspension of Gurpartap Singh, the in-charge of the school today. The DPI (S), in his orders, allegedly held Gurpartap Singh responsible for negligence in his duty.

SAD leader and former MLA Ravinder Singh Brahampura had highlighted the issue and lodged a complaint to the DEO concerned and the Punjab State Commission for Protection of Child Rights regarding “the gross violation of children’s rights”. The DEO (S), Tarn Taran, confirmed the orders of the suspension of Gurpartap Singh.
