School student killed, 3 injured in bus mishap

One student was killed and three were injured when a school bus collided with a private bus amid dense fog on the outskirts of Faridkot on Thursday morning.

The accident took place near Kaler village. A van ferrying students of Shahid Ganj Public School, Mudki, collided with bus travelling at high speed. Shortly thereafter, a car rammed into the bus from behind. Class IX student Eknoor Thapar died on the spot, while Jashandeep Kaur (Class XI), Khushvir Kaur (Class VII) and Jaismeen Kaur (Class XII) were injured in the accident.

The local police and emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and rushed the injured to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital, Faridkot. The driver of the private bus manged to flee after the accident.

Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan visited the hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured students.
