A bike-borne man died on the spot after being hit by a speeding car near Ambika City on the Hanumangarh-Suratgarh bypass road at around 5.45 pm.

Sub-Inspector Sunil Kumar said the deceased has been identified as Manish Bhambhu (25), a resident of Bodiwala Pitha village near Abohar.

The SI said Bhambhu was a teacher at Nosegay Public School. He was returning from school, and when he came to the main road from the school street, a speeding car hit him, killing him on the spot. He said the driver drove the car away from the incident site. The police have kept the body in the mortuary of the government hospital, and a postmortem would be done tomorrow. — OC
