Sidhu Moosewala death anniversary: Sea of fans pays tribute to Punjabi singer, parents seek justice
A sea of fans paid tribute to Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala on his third death anniversary at Moosa village in Mansa today.
Moosewala’s parents, father Balkaur Singh and mother Charan Kaur, organised a “Sehaj Path” on the occasion. They were accompanied by singer’s younger brother as they visited the cremation site.
Balkaur Singh said, “Only we know how these three years have passed. Your support gives us strength. Had it not been for your support, we wouldn’t have reached where we are today in Sidhu’s case.”
Pleading for justice, Moosewala’s father said, “My son’s song was banned within 24 hours, but gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s interview kept airing continuously.”
“The government is trying to suppress those who demand justice for Moosewala. On his first barsi, they initiated a crackdown on Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh to disrupt the event. Whenever people gather to pay him respect, the government creates obstacles,” he said.
Charan Kaur posted on social media, “We overcame every hardship with a smile by just looking at your face. Now, it has been three years since we’ve been speaking to your pictures and waiting for justice.”
“Many objectionable things have been posted on social media related to the case. Even our hope for strict action has been dashed. But son, we will not back down. We will continue to raise our voice,” she posted. Singer Jaswinder Brar, actor Dev Kharod and several other dignitaries attended the event.
