Seminar dwells on Sikh issues

Dal Khalsa organised a seminar on ‘The 40-year saga of extrajudicial killings and the changing facets of Sikh resistance’ at historical Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib here today.

Human rights activist Prof Jagmohan Singh, Amrit Kaur, daughter of former PM Indira Gandhi’s assassin Beant Singh, SGPC member Karnail Singh Panjoli, Ravinderpal Singh Khalsa and district court lawyers participated in the event. A large number of youths associated with the USSF and members of student organisation SATH also took part in the seminar.

Dal Khalsa president Harpal Singh Cheema and working president Paramjit Singh Mand and leader Kanwarpal Singh, in their addresses, expressed deep concern over the alarming situation arisen in the wake of extrajudicial killings of Sikh separatists world over.

The speakers said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should reply on Canada’s charge of Home Minister Amit Shah’s involvement in the Nijjar murder case. They blamed India’s foreign minister for Canada naming India in its adversary list after China, Iran, North Korea.
