A special seminar aimed at empowering and educating schoolgirls was organised today at Government Senior Secondary School, Kanjli, under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal. The event was jointly conducted by the District Child Protection Unit and District Legal Services Authority, Kapurthala, as part of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign.

The seminar focused on critical issues such as child marriage, sexual exploitation, child labor, and trafficking. It also provided information on child-related laws, sponsorship schemes, and support services, including the Child Helpline (1098).

“The core objective of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign is to improve the sex ratio, make women self-reliant, and ensure they have equal opportunities to excel in society,” the speakers said.

The officials urged the public to make the campagin as success, ensuring a brighter future for the girl child.
