Shopkeepers have decided to shut their businesses on December 30 in solidarity with striking farmers, who have announced a statewide protest on Monday.

A special meeting of the Beopar Mandal was held under the chairmanship of Beopar Mandal President Ashok Gulbadhar in which the decision was made. Representatives from 30 unions affiliated with the Beopar Mandal participated in the meeting. After the meeting, Ashok Gulbadhar stated that the traders fully support the farmers’ demands, which should be accepted without delay.

Similarly, Chemists Association President Bal Krishan Kataria has also announced that chemists will observe a strike on Monday until 3 p.m., with all chemist shops closing.

Gulbadhar mentioned that the traders will meet with the SSP on Tuesday to demand strict action against anti-social elements.
