The State Home Department has withdrawn its orders issued to the deputy commissioners two days ago, wherein it allowed opening of shops dealing in the distribution of books and sale of air conditioners.

The move follows directions from the Union Home Ministry to the state, asking it to amend its orders under which it had referred books and air conditioners as essential goods. However, the instructions regarding allowing of sand and gravel mining and its transport and running of stone crushing units have not been withdrawn.
