Chandigarh, November 23

The state Transport Department today started a shuttle service between Dera Baba Nanak and the entry point to Kartarpur corridor.

The move came following criticism over a no bus service on this stretch, much to the inconvenience of the pilgrims going to pay obeisance at Gurdwara Darbar sahib in Kartarpur through the corridor.

Razia Sultana, Transport Minister, said the service had been started. She said the bus would start from Dera Baba Nanak bus stand at 8:45 am and reach the corridor terminal at 9.00 am. In the evening, the bus would start its return journey from the corridor at 5:15 pm.

She said depending on the number of passenger, the frequency of this service would be increased. She said she had already directed Punjab Roadways to immediately start a shuttle service up to the passenger terminal.

The Transport Minister further directed the Punjab Roadways to extend some existing bus services to Dera Baba Nanak from major cities up to the passenger terminal.
