Six sophisticated weapons seized in Tarn Taran, two arrested

The Valtoha police in the Patti area here claimed to have busted a three-member cross-border weapons smuggling module on Thursday, arresting two persons and recovering six sophisticated weapons. SSP Abhimanyu Rana identified the arrested accused as Surajpal Singh and Arshdeep Singh, both residents of Lakhna village.

The police party, led by ASI Manjinder Singh, recovered four Glock pistols with six cartridges from the accused on the previous night. The SSP added that the third associate, Parashdeep Singh Parsh of Rajoke village, is still at large.

According to the SSP, the module has links with smugglers based across the border, who supply them with illegal weapons via drones. A case has been registered under Sections 25(6), 25(7), and 59 of the Arms Act, and further investigation is underway to identify all backward and forward linkages.
