The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has denounced the “misinformation campaign” launched against Dr Darshan Pal, president of the Krantikari Kisan Union, an active constituent of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM). The attempt to link Darshan Pal to the banned CPI (Maoists) through a highly suspicious press release, is reprehensible.

In a statement issued today, the SKM said it was the handiwork of agencies that were inimical to the cause of farmers and wish to crush the historic farm movement being led by the SKM.

“It may be kept in mind that this false propaganda against farmers and their leaders commenced with the Union Govt-controlled Delhi Police, alleging in an FIR of October 2023 against editors/reporters of media house NewsClick that the farm movement was terrorist-supported, anti-national, against India’s economic interest, foreign funded etc. These allegations are an insult to the patriotic farmers,” said the release.
