Sriganganagar and Bikaner-based sweet manufacturers provide supplies in bulk to sweet sellers in Abohar and other areas in Fazilka district.

In Sriganganagar, Chief Medical Health Officer Ajay Singla destroyed sweets with mold on the spot. He inspected a warehouse of sweet sellers in Padampur and Raisinghnagar and found khoya and other food items infested with insects. The health team destroyed approximately over six quintals of food items on the spot.

Another team seized 60-kg ghee from a trader’s premises in Raisinghnagar, and another team inspected a dozen sweet shops. About 150 kg of sweets and syrup were destroyed. Samples of gulab jamun and rasgulla were collected from a shop and 142 litres of ghee was also seized.
