The state government would hold talks with the Centre to allow non-resident Indians (NRIs) to purchase agricultural land. NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal today held a meeting with Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan on key issues affecting the NRIs of both the states.

Dhaliwal said the two states would jointly take up the matter with the Centre to seek a policy change to benefit the NRIs. They urged the Government of India to ensure that Indian missions should recruit staff familiar with vernacular languages.
