For the third round of counselling for admissions to an MBBS course, the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) today offered 50 more seats in the state. These seats are at RIMT Medical College and Hospital in Fatehgarh Sahib.

The National Medical Commission had given approval to the new institute to start MBBS course with 50 seats, said a senior functionary of the BFUHS.

The authorities said of the 50 seats, 25 were under the government quota and 25 were reserved for the management quota.

In government and management quota, there are nine and 16 open category seats, respectively, in the college. For SC, BC, physically challenged candidates, the number of reserved seats is 13, five and three, respectively, in both government and management quota, said the university authorities. One seat each is reserved for defence, Punjab Police, freedom fighter and J&K quota.
