On National Consumer Day, Punjab found itself among the states witnessing 100% e-filing of consumer grievances. The announcement was made by Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi in a virtual address.

The theme for this year’s National Consumer Day was “Virtual Hearings and Digital Access to Consumer Justice”.

He said states like “Karnataka, Punjab, Rajasthan… have achieved commendable 100% rate of e-filing” complaints.

He said virtual hearing of grievances was giving consumers digital access to justice and that reflected the PM Modi’s commitment to ensuring efficient and accessible justice to the consumers.

Joshi said under the Central Consumers Protection Authority, a three-tier structure to address consumer complaints was in place, including consumer courts at district, state and national level.
