Stepfather arrested for sexual abuse of minor in Moga

The abuse came to light when the girl informed her mother, who called the police emergency helpline. Acting promptly, police officers apprehended Singh.
According to police, the victim’s mother had married Singh several years ago. The assault allegedly began when the mother was away for medical treatment. Based on the girl’s statement, a case was registered under Sections 64(2)F, 64(2)M, 351 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with provisions of the POCSO Act.
During Singh’s medical examination at Moga Civil Hospital, tensions escalated when the victim’s mother attacked him in anger. Police intervened to control the situation and transported him back into custody. DNA samples of both the accused and the victim have been taken. Inspector Kiranjit Kaur confirmed the arrest and said investigations are ongoing.
