Some people came in a car and opened fire outside Khalsa College here today, resulting in bullet injury to a 16-year-old boy Harpreet Singh Kaka, a resident of Panjpir Mohalla here.

Kaka was taken to a hospital in Sriganganagar.

On getting information about the incident, DSP Arun Mundan along with City-1 police station team reached the government hospital and started investigation.

Hunt on to nab suspects

Jeet Singh, victim’s fried, said when he and Kaka were standing in front of Khalsa College, about half a dozen youths came in a car and opened fire on them. One bullet hit Harpreet Singh.

Kaka’s father Baljinder Singh said on January 15, some residents of village Sappanwali had come to his house and threatened to kill Kaka. He expressed apprehension that the same youths had carried out the attack on his son.

DSP Arun Mundan said police teams had been on a hunt to arrest the suspects.
