Congress MLA from Bholath Sukhpal Singh Khaira met former PCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu at the Patiala Central Jail on Friday.
After the meeting, Khaira said the government should remit Sidhu’s one-year sentence. “The government should pass an order to remit the terms of all prisoners who had been lodged under Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code,” he said. “Of the 26,000 inmates in Punjab, there may be a handful serving jail term under this section,” he said.
