Senior leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Lok Sabha Member Harsimrat Kaur Badal today addressed gatherings at Chhina Bidhi Chand, Mahne Mallian, Ran Rauni, Burj-195 and Chhichrewal villages etc in favour of Sukhwinder Kaur, party candidate for the Tarn Taran by-election.

Badal appealed to the people to support their “own regional party to send the clear message of rejection to all anti-Punjab forces who were bent on dividing Punjabis for their narrow political interests”.

She said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had “admitted its defeat from Tarn Taran by filing false cases against the SAD candidate’s daughter Kanchanpreet Kaur and Akali workers”.

In Ram Rauni village, while canvassing for Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa, the Bathinda MP appealed to the people to support the Dharmi Fauji family which was committed to social service vis-a-vis the “gadaar” and AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu “who was trying to cling on to power by hanging from campaign vehicles”.

Asserting that all Delhi-based parties were one and arraigned against the SAD, Harsimrat Badal said, “I appeal to you to evaluate the parties in the fray. You have seen how the previous Congress government reneged on waiving off farmer loans. The working of the AAP government, which has witnessed the denial of compensation to farmers and jobs to youth, besides rampant lawlessness is also before you.”

Asserting that the contest in Tarn Taran was one between truth and falsehood, Badal said, “You have been consistently betrayed by both the Congress and AAP. None of these parties came to your support during the recent devastating floods. The SAD alone reached out to farmers to provide immediate aid, besides distributing certified wheat seed for sowing in 1 lakh acres of land”. The Bathinda MP also spoke on how AAP had made false promises to women of Punjab and deceived them. “All women should ask AAP representatives to first deposit Rs 45,000 in their accounts before asking for their votes as they had promised to pay them Rs 1,000 per month four years ago.”

Party leaders Gurcharan Singh Grewal, Kanchanpreet Kaur, Parambans Singh Romana, Gaurav Valtoha, Paramjit Dhillon, Makhan Lalka, Gursewak Singh Shekh and Gagandeep Singh Khandebad, also addressed people on the occasion.
