The leaders of different farm outfits, including Master Boota Singh, Pargat Singh Chackpakhi, Harish Nadha, Yadvinder Singh and others, alleged Jyani was supporting the “black laws” and they had decided to boycott him and other BJP leaders.

They said the boycott would continue till the laws were not withdrawn by the Centre. They warned that the BJP would have to face the consequences of the laws.

Earlier, the farmers gathered at local Pratap Bagh, took out a procession in the town and reached the grain market to gherao the office. Elaborate police arrangements were made to prevent any untoward incident. In Fatehgarh Sahib, local farm leaders today attempted to gherao the residence of district BJP president Pardeep Garg at Amloh town, but a large contingent of the police thwarted the attempt. — OC
