Sub Inspector Pargat Singh confirmed that his team, acting on a tip-off during routine patrolling, raided Kundan Singh’s tea stall in Khubban village. The raid led to the seizure of 310 grams of poppy husk and Rs 7,460 in drug money. A case has been registered against Singh under Sections 15, 61, and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Earlier, another tea stall vendor in Abohar’s new grain market was found selling poppy husk, and there have been past reports of poppy husk being sold at a grocery shop in a nearby village. Preliminary investigations indicate that most peddlers source their poppy husk from Sadulshehar, where it remains readily available.
