Theft at gun house in Sangrur
Sangrur, January 13
As many as 16 weapons were stolen from Chanchal Gun House, situated opposite the district administrative complex (DC office), Sangrur, during the intervening night of January 12 and 13.
Sangrur SSP, Sartaj Singh Chahal, confirmed late this evening that five .32 bore pistols, five .32 bore revolvers, five 12 bore guns and one 30 bore rifle had been stolen from the gun house by the thieves. He said one 12 bore gun had been recovered from a road.
The SSP further said that there were three to four persons who had stolen the weapons. He said the police was investigating the case. Police teams had been formed to nab the accused.
