A thief who tested Covid positive and was undergoing treatment at Saraswati Pharmacy College, Kalatibba Road, escaped from an isolation ward.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Des Raj said, “Rahul Kumar was nabbed with a stolen motorcycle on July 17. His second sample was taken on July 30 and his report came out negative on August 1. The accused escaped from a washroom.”

In another incident, a person arrested for his involvement in a group clash in Sant Nagar tested positive. Health workers reached the police station with an ambulance and the accused was taken to the isolation centre.

Angrej Singh, incharge, City-1 police station, said around six cops who had gone to nab the accused in Sant Nagar were quarantined in their houses. — OC
