Though fire engines and firefighters arrived at the spot on time, they failed to control the raging flames. As a result, the shed of the factory also collapsed. The fire engines were roped in from Guru Gobind Singh Refinery and Dabwali in Haryana. It took six hours for the firefighters to bring the fire under control. Several trucks parked in the factory were also engulfed in the flames.

Balkaar Singh, one of the workers, said, they were working in the unit when the fire broke out. He said he and another worker managed to escape, but Lakhveer, Ninder and Vijay were unable to make it out.
