Officials of the Moga police today visited the house of Tik Tok stars Noorpreet Kaur (5) and her sister Jashanpreet Kaur (9) at Bhinder Kalan village in the district and asked their family to maintain social distancing from the fans who were coming to meet them.
DSPs Sukhwinder Singh Saini and Ramandeep Singh Bhullar who visited Noor’s family with their team said the children had proven their artistic talent, which could be put to good use even during the lockdown. He educated the children and their family members to stay away from people visiting them and do not touch or shake hands with anyone. He also gave masks to the family along with Rs 5,100 as a token of love for the talented children.
SSP Harmanbir Singh Gill appealed to the fans not to visit them and rather encourage the children through social media platforms.
Millions of people have seen the tiny patka-clad ‘sardarji’, who with her cheeky responses and big eyes has become a Tik Tok star in the country, particularly in Punjabi speaking areas, during the lockdown period.
The videos flashing on the internet on various channels are the brainchild of grocery store owner Sandeep Toor who has over one million followers. Noor’s sister Jashanpreet and other kids from the village also feature in the videos. Toor never thought the videos would become popular. He got 7 lakh followers in a week and they are increasing every day.
The little stars belong to a poor family. Noor’s father Satnam Singh works as a labourer at a brick-kiln while her mother is a housewife. The child studies in Nursery at a government school in her village.
