The foggy season is underway and electricity transformer thieves are on the prowl in Muktsar district.

Eight electricity transformers were stolen from Dhulkot and Mallan villages here on Wednesday night. Gurnaib Singh, a farmer of Dhulkot village, said, “Five transformers installed in the fields were found stolen yesterday. We have given information in this regard to the police and the authorities concerned.”

Similarly, some farmers of Mallan village said that three transformers were stolen from their village on Wednesday. A couple of days ago, five transformers were stolen from Gurusar village here.
