A truck driver and a soldier, both residents of Bathinda, were killed in separate road accidents today.

Mahajan police station in-charge Ramesh Kumar said two trucks collided near Arjunasar on the National Highway No. 62 this morning. Driver Major Singh (48) of Kot Fatta (Bathinda) and conductor Harjeet Singh (50) of Dhobi Basti (Bathinda) were grievously injured.

One of the trucks was on way to Bikaner from Bathinda, while the other was returning to Punjab. Harjeet is admitted to the Civil Hospital, Sriganganagar.

Soldier Harpreet Singh (31) of Jujhar Singh Nagar (Bathinda) was killed when the car (PB 03 AT 1094) that he was driving on way to Bathinda from Suratgarh hit a state roadways bus (RJ 31 PA 3147) in the Dabli Rathan area on the Hanumangarh-Peelibanga road today.
