Governor Gulab Chand Kataria stressed on the importance of education, culture and employment during convocation held at Rayat Bahra Educity on Wednesday.

He said, “True education teaches us to serve society.”

Referring to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, he said education was the biggest weapon. Praising the New Education Policy-2020, he said it gives priority to all-round development of the students. The Governor stressed the need to focus more on research work in universities. He also talked about encouraging sporting activity in Punjab and stop drug addiction.

Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor, Rayat Bahra University, said this convocation was a symbol of hardwork and dedication of the students.

A total of 438 students were awarded degrees at the ceremony. These included 374 undergraduate and 64 postgraduate students, including 76 from pharmacy, 109 from engineering, 38 from nursing, 65 from BEd, 15 from law and 123 from management departments.
