Officials in the agency said NIA sleuths arrested Harbhinder Singh, alias Pinder, and Navpreet Singh, alias Nav, both from Tarn Taran.

A senior NIA official said, “They are close aides of Inderjit Singh, who was involved in the conspiracy to kill Sandhu.” The accused were produced before the NIA Special Court in Mohali today and sent to the agency custody for four days. A case in connection with Sandhu’s murder was initially registered by the Punjab Police but the NIA took over the probe on January 26 this year. — TNS
