Two students died on the spot, and a third was critically injured when a speeding car hit the bike they were riding on their way back from school this afternoon. According to sources, the victims, all Class 11 students, were returning on a motorcycle from Government Senior Secondary School, located on the Abohar-Malout stretch of the highway in Balluana, about 10 km from Abohar.

A speeding car hit the bike, jumped over the divider after the driver lost control, and fled the scene. Two students died immediately, while the third student was seriously injured. He was taken to Abohar Civil Hospital, where doctors referred him to a higher facility due to his critical condition.

The deceased were identified as Karan and Rakesh from Ramgarh village. The seriously injured student, Prem, also hails from the same village. Prem has been taken to GGS Medical College Hospital in Faridkot by an ambulance. All the victims were approximately 18 years old.

After the incident, the car driver fled the scene, and passersby brought the victims to the hospital. The family members of the deceased, who reached the hospital, were inconsolable.
