Activists of farm unions have been motivating farmers in the Majha region to join Delhi March on December 6. Representatives of the SKM (Non-Political) and other unions held public meetings in that regard in Amritsar and Tarn Taran villages. They asked farmers to gather at the Shambhu border by December 3 to participate in Delhi March.

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said the Centre and the Punjab Government were employing all tactics to distract attention of the people from the demands accepted during the Delhi farm agitation.

Farmer leader Lakhwinder Singh Waryam Nangal said rumours were being spread that the government had opened the Shambhu border, but that was a complete lie. “We appealed to the farmers and labourers to reach Shambhu and Khanauri borders to join the farm stir,” he added.
