Abohar/Sriganganagar, February 6
A 270-strong US Army contingent arrived at Suratgarh, near Sriganganagar, today for a joint training exercise, “Yudh Abhyas-20”, with Indian troops.
The contingent proceeded to the exercise area at Mahajan Field Firing Ranges, where the joint training will commence from Monday.
The Indian Army extended a warm welcome to the US contingent, followed by exchange of pleasantries between the commanders and soldiers of both armies.
This is the sixteenth edition of ‘Yudh Abhyas-20’, which began in 2004. The last edition was held in Seattle, US.
The exercise will focus on counter-terrorism operations under the United Nations mandate. During the exercise, participants will engage in missions ranging from joint planning operations to joint tactical drills.
