Water-sharing row: Minister Bains gives flight instruction analogy — 'Secure your own mask first'
Ropar Range DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, along with a heavy police force, reviewed the security of the Nangal dam on Thursday morning. "We are here to check all vulnerable points of the dam. This has nothing to do with any other development," he said.
Holding a protest at Bela Chowk in Ropar today, Education Minister Harjot Bains said, “It is our duty to protect the interests of Punjabis and we will do it at any cost.”
Regarding the dispute over sharing of water, Bains gave an analogy of instruction given by airlines: "Secure your own mask first, then help others," he said.
An effigy of PM Narendra Modi was burnt and slogans were raised against the Union Government in the presence of Bains and local MLA Dinesh Chadha.
