Muktsar, July 5

The supply of contaminated water to various localities in the town has become a major problem for the locals.

“Manholes are overflowing and we are getting drinking water mixed with sewage at our houses. Our street has become a mosquito breeding ground. Despite several requests, officials concerned have failed to solve this problem,” said a resident of Gandhi Nagar.

PS Dhanju, XEN, Water Supply and Sanitation Department, said, “Our men are tracing water supply leakage points and trying to fix it. A water lifting pump had gone out of order due to which a few manholes had over flown, but it has been fixed.” — TNS
