The meeting was chaired by Committee Chairperson and Jagraon MLA Sarvjit Kaur Manuke, and attended by Amritsar West MLA Jasbir Singh Sandhu, Bathinda Rural MLA Amit Rattan, Bhuchon MLA Master Jagsir Singh and Attari MLA Jaswinder Singh Ramdas.
District-level officials from key departments were also present during the session.
The committee directed officials to ensure that the benefits of all welfare schemes reach the rightful beneficiaries at the grassroots level without delay. Emphasizing the need for awareness, Manuke said, “It is our collective duty to uplift the underprivileged sections of society. Maximum outreach through awareness camps should be ensured so no eligible person is left behind.”
Taking serious note of incomplete information provided by certain departments, the committee reprimanded the concerned officials and summoned them to appear in the next meeting at the Vidhan Sabha in Chandigarh. MLAs also sought detailed reports on the implementation of welfare schemes over the last three and a half years and asked for compliance on earlier instructions.
Officers present included ADC (Urban) Navreet Kaur Sekhon, ADC (Rural) Amarinder Singh Tiwana, ADC Isha Singhal, SDM Harjot Kaur, SPs Swaranjit Kaur and Palwinder Singh Cheema, and other nodal and departmental officials.
