New Delhi, August 1
Shiromani Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Thursday took to task the Punjab Government and the Centre asking why no flood assistance was released to the state.
She raised the issue during question hour in the Lok Sabha. The Centre replied that the state government had not submitted any report about floods damaging crops and houses in Punjab in 2023.
Badal expressed shock saying houses were damaged and crops washed away. Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil said the state had submitted that no flooding took place in 2023.
“It is due to this criminal inefficiency and misgovernance that Punjab is suffering,” Badal said while calling for grant of appropriate flood relief to Punjab. — TNS
