Will accept genuine demands of healthcare workers: Soni

Deputy Chief Minister OP Soni on Tuesday said the state government is making all out efforts to involve non-resident Indians (NRIs) in the process of development.

Soni, who also holds a health portfolio, said the development would be rapid if NRIs adopt their native places and invest in charitable institutions.

He was at Talania village today to inaugurate the hospital set up by an NRI. Soni also inaugurated a 50 bed Child Mother Super Specialty Hospital at the Fatehgarh Sahib Civil Hospital.

He said Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has made announcements for the welfare of masses and all the decisions were being implemented.

He said the government was committed to provide quality health facilities to residents and urged the healthcare workers not to disrupt the health services as their genuine demands would be accepted.

He said 32 Child Mother Super Specialty Hospitals have been made operational in the state, which provided state-of-the-art facilities round the clock.

MLA Kuljit Nagra highlighted the development projects initiated in his constituency at the cost of Rs 400 crore. He urged Soni to depute specialist doctors and staff in these hospitals.
