Woman dies in roof cave-in

A woman was killed and another critically injured in a roof collapse at Chandigarh Mohalla near Nai Abadi here on Sunday.

The police said the roof caved in due to incessant rain. Sharda Devi (60) was living in a rented house and was sitting in a room with her neighbour Mamta (45) and another woman when the roof collapsed.

Sharda and Mamta were injured in the incident.

Sharda died on the way to the hospital. Mamta is undergoing treatment and her condition is critical, doctors said.

The third woman had a narrow escape as she had come out of the room just moments before the tragedy.
