The police today demolished a two-storey house of a woman drug peddler at Rori Kut Mohalla in Lakkad Mandi here.

SSP Nanak Singh, along with over 50 cops, were present at the spot when the house of the peddler, Rinki, was being razed. Cops were deployed in strength to avert any law and order problem as some other peddlers resided in the vicinity of her house.

The SSP said, “The drug peddler faces over 10 FIRs registered under the NDPS Act from 2016 to 2023. Raids are already on to arrest her. She has been evading arrest for the past some months.”

He said, “We found that the house was constructed through the money earned from selling drugs following which the action was taken today.”
