Woman jumps before train with her newborn son in Moga, both dead
Faridkot, January 23
A 25-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide along with her 3-month-old son by jumping in front of a moving train at Moga railway station on Monday evening, the police said.
While the woman died on the spot, the child was declared brought dead at the Civil Hospital. Seeing the woman jumping in front of the moving train, a shopkeeper on the railway station tried to save the woman but failed. The shopkeeper sustained injuries in his attempt.
The woman has been identified as Sukhwinder Kaur. According to a complaint by her father, Desh Raj, she was married to one Vinod Kumar Verma who was allegedly a drug addict. A criminal case was lodged against her in-laws and husband.
