Woman killed, 3 hurt as car rams into stationary truck

A woman was killed and three persons were injured after the car they were travelling in rammed into a stationary truck near Doda village on the Muktsar-Bathinda highway on Saturday.

The deceased, identified as Mamta Rani (47), was sitting in the navigator’s seat when the mishap occurred. She was a cousin of AAP MLA from Jalalabad Jagdeep Singh Goldy Kamboj.

Kamboj said, “The deceased was my maternal uncle’s daughter and a resident of Jalalabad subdivision. Her father-in-law is admitted to a hospital in Bathinda. She, along with her two sons and a sister-in-law, was on way to Bathinda when their vehicle rammed into a stationary truck. There were no reflectors on the truck. The injured have been taken to a private hospital in Bathinda for treatment.”
