A tragic accident occurred on the canal bridge of the bypass here, when a private bus collided with a scooter, resulting in the death of a 30-year-old woman and injuries to her 50-year-old mother-in-law.

The deceased, identified as Vimal, was riding the scooter with her mother-in-law, Parmeshwari Devi, of Dhani Dada Nirania. As they reached the Malukpura Canal bridge, the bus, traveling from behind, reportedly struck their scooter. Vimal died instantly, while Parmeshwari Devi sustained serious injuries.After receiving initial treatment at a local hospital, Parmeshwari Devi was referred to Bathinda for further medical care. The body of the deceased was sent to the Civil Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
